James's Big Something

8/17/2005

Classic bro... glad to hear SOMETHING finally happened.

Yeah all is well with me, nothing new actually. nothing so stunning like your developments. but i would expect www.superprecisionengineeringwithababy.com will need some travel talent such as myself if i ever do return... keep a position open.
> Daryl,
> Good to hear from you. I hope your travelling is going well.
> It's been a while!
> Just after Kristy and I saw you last, we sold our Condo in SB and
> bought a house in Ventura. I took a job at a motor company (owned
> by the son of an older controls engineer friend of mine). I vowed
> that I would immediately begin trying to figure out how to work on
> my own, and would not be there long.
> 8 months later, I bailed on the job, and am now doing consulting
> work for several companies, including the motor company, InTouch
> Health (that was my first big job that gave me the courage to jump),
> and a couple other companies from Goleta to Simi Valley.
> So see man, 2004 WAS the year of something! - I saw you bagging on
> me on your website : )
> So we spent a few months fixing up the house ourselves, started my
> own consulting business - named Precision Mechanical Design -
> www.precisionmechanicaldesign.com (not much there in terms of a web
> page yet), and now have a kid.
> Crazy stuff man. Just as you get a handle on one part of life, the
> next segment is already upon you!
> We're glad we made the move to Ventura so our lives don't have to be
> so mortgage-focused. SB is crazy. Maybe we'll be back someday, but
> in the meantime I'm able to work how I want to work, have space for
> a family, etc. It's a much better feeling.
> When are you going to be in the U.S. next?
> There's an InTouch guy named Mike Medus in Argentina - still doing
> some work for them now that he's moved back. He was one of those
> old UCSB robotics center guys. He's super cool, and is a serious
> tennis player.
> You unloaded all of your ISRG? I unfortunately haven't followed the
> stock because I haven't owned any in years and years.
> Now let's hope my InTouch stock does something!
> Talk to you soon,
> James
> P.S., I go to this thing once a week called Toastmasters where you
> practice giving public speaches/presentations. Some people are
> really good. I gave a speech entitled, "My Friend Daryl". Dude, I
> told some classic Daryl stories (hovercrafts, chuck's place, etc.)
> and had the crowd rolling. This girl comes up to me afterwards, and
> says her new husband loves Chuck's place. Hah!

> > dude, you are my hero... congratulations!
> > hey you know i pulled out of ISRG a week before it jumped $20. > AHHHH!!!!
> > relaxing in argentina still...
