Jim's Big Decision

11/08/2004

hey guys,

yesterday i made a big decision: to stay in LA for awhile, perhaps several months. part of this is because i still feel uninspired for travel (not sure why) and part because i've still got projects to work on that are still nagging me (such as my web site and videos).

several things popped up in my lap here: a room in the boyz house, another friend selling a motorcycle, and a spare computer i can use to do my work. in addition, i can get myself back in shape with regular rides up around the rose bowl. it's been a long time since last i lived here in 1991, and it will be good to spend more time with my long-time buddies here.

hopefully my wanderlust will return in the spring.

daryl: given the temperature-related aspect of your bike troubles, i'd check all the electrical connections and cables. resistance increases with temperature, and i've had such problems before.

Over the past month it seems as though I have travelled the whole country
and yet in reality I have only gone from Puno and the border of Peru to La
Paz, Bolivia. Numerous unexpected and unexplained motorcycle problems have me
in a holding pattern of waiting on parts and looking for solutions. And so
here I sit in La Paz, and every day the rains get heavier. It can be
depressing... Wish me luck, and while you do check out my latest update:
