Andrey's Recap

06/12/2003

hi Daryl,

that's the first time i write you. and we met pretty long time ago. as for me REALLY long time. but it's never possible to tell what's the time in travel exactly, isn't it?

my name is Andrey (rather young Russian Israeli guy). we were in the same bus from Kathmandu to Lhasa the last summer. July?.. i was travelling with a German girl together to Russia (where most of my family lives): tibet - china - russia. we had pretty nasty trouble with getting russian visa (tried to figure out and collected invitation and all the stuff during about 1 month, bloody month in hot Beijing...) and i staied there with her for 2 mouth in Russia. even for me who lived there for 17 years it was a strange experience. russia is strange. in it's own way.

then i staied there for a couple of months longer with my family and joined Uta (this girl) in germany. where we lived together for 3 mouth. and now finally i had to return to israel. that's the strangest part of the travel. actually it's kind of my home. i lived here for the last 5 years. before the travel.. but after more then a year of travel everything is errr.. strange and unfamiliar, but too familiar at the same time. not the easiest way to meet the home. all i think and plan now how to leave again. for living in another country, or tra! veling. but job and all the stuff. money...

all i wanted to tell. it's the grate way you do the travel. maybe sometiems it's not that hard to return home. think that every time it's different....

wish you lot of enjoy on the way forward, really!
