Nicholas's Chess Dilemma

2/20/2005

Hola Darryl

Ok, for the chess : e2-e4, e7-e5, g1-f3, f7-f6, f3-e5, f6-e5, d1-h5, e8-e7, h5-e5, e7-f7, f1-c4. And after ? of course f7-g6 for the king and then e5-f5, g6-h6, and d2-d3 ? But if it's d2-d3, then the pawn g8-g6 protected by the queen in d8, and it's not chess mat. In my memory, there where no solution to avoid the quick mat after moving the king the first time... no ?

Good luck for antarctica ! It was too expensive for me : 2500 USdollars...

One month in Buenos Aires !? What you gonna do there ? It's like Paris here, but without the famous monuments... there is nothing to do here but partiing... witch cost money ! I try sky diving last week ! Fantastic, i would like to do it again ! (4200 pesos) I don't like the people in Argentina (stupids, arrogants, prouds, completely inefficients), nor the society (bad education for the children) nor the landscape (really boring in the middle of the country...) But i just come back for Iguacu falls : Amazing ! Do'nt skip them ! I fly tomorrow to Paris and will be in Asia next month i think...

i am camping in el calafate... perito moreno is incredible, saw er
today. tomorrow i go across to the rio gallagas or whatever they
call it on the other coast to try and find some moto parts. i think
the last boat to antarctica is feb 28 so i gotta get there soon.
will do torres on the way back i guess.

chess... now i remeber... i would then play the bishop f1-c4 and
check you again. after that it gets really ugly for you quick.

Yeah it aint so friendly people like chile, but it is slightly
cheaper and the quality seems better. i tried hitching today for
2 hours to no success. No cultural shock and awe is kinda boring
also. But i reckon on getting to brazil quick after antarctica. i
might stay a month in buenos aires though just to chill. i got lots
of friends there and they say you get a place for like 200pesos the
month. what dont you like about argentina?

Hi guy
For the chess game, it's the one when you beat me quickly because
i've played f7-f6... it's easy to see, even on a picture like
http://www.soyouwanna.com/site/syws/chess/img/CHESS_01.gif
In El Calafate, you can sleep and meet very nice people for 10 pesos
on the refuge "La cueva". It's in the lonely planet, in the
"information section" (not "where to sleep")
My recommandation : don't spend too much time in this shit country
called "Argentina". I deffinitely don't like it !
Good luck with you motorbike !

i am not sure about
that chess one since i dont have my board here and cant picture it.
but we can play it on www.echess.co.za if you get an account. my
username is groovyd. i am in calafate and still headed south,
rather slowly obviously. my motorbike is a constant source of
trouble. if it makes it to buenos aires i will either sell it or
really fix it up. plan to live there a couple months probably.
all is well otherwise and i been having good fun seeing the sites.
any recommendations? Hola Daryl ! Do you remember how
make check mat quickly by starting with the sequence e2-e4,
e7-e5, g1-f3, f7-f6, f3-e5, f6-e5, d1-h5, e8-e7, h5-e5, e7-f7 ?
I'm in Buenos Aires since a week now and i like much more than
the rest of the country... i may go very soon to central Asia.
And you, where are you ? Any more helmet problem with the police ?
                  Write back please !
        Nicolas
