Argentina (El Chalten, Perito Moreno)

Welcome back to Argentina
out of the mountains and into the plains
quite a change of scenery from the lush Carretera Austral just miles back in Chile
where i scared the shit out of my 1st Armadillo
and on the infamous Ruta 40 South toward El Chalten
mountain chain in the distance


Camped out in heavy rain and winds of 90kph
my moto turns 10,000 from the overhaul in Bolivia
3 shocked Germans headed the other way and struggling on their heavily weighted BMW 1150s
and me on my Korean 125
Pass the crazy Jap who I keep running across on my way into El Chalten
he teaches me the japanese military secret art of using toilet paper as earplugs

and suprise the Dutch, English, and now Israeli gang from Tortel
camped out together a few days
a good day to hike to the mirador for a great view of the Fitz Roy peaks




Finally at the peak after a heavy few hours climb

this time to the base of Fitz Roy
to experience its mighty glacier
