Bolivia (Yungas, La Paz)

Helping out a fellow ciclista y familia with a liter of combustible
Here the Yugoslavian Jawa is king of the road
and make a few adjustments of my own
for a trip through the Yungas
a beautiful part of Bolivia

on dry and dusty trails
to the transit town of Chulumani
The unexplained stalls begin forcing me to return to La Paz
in the back of a camion
full of oranges


20 hours of rocking and rolling
on the rodeo ride from hell
all the way back to La Paz
where I spent a couple weeks and a couple hundred on a major overhaul
rethreading the spark plug hole
new piston rings,timing chain, and seals
and muffler modifications
trying to enjoy the long waits inbetween with some new friends
and eating llama steaks
and watching the women play soccer
watching the international teams race through from La Paz to Copacabana
and alot of late night stumbles
a bit too drunk to capture this one correctly


a bit too much chicha for him



somehow i ended up with the rainbow headband
in the end the real problem was the spark sender
rewound by hand and ready to go
they wanted me to pay for this picture
