Sunset entering Macedonia (view from the train)
After an hour of sitting still the train finally moves...
faster
Welcome to Skopia
With a mix of architecture from the Turks...
and the Ruskies...
God bless the Ruskies
with graffitti being the dominant theme
'Ah... The Bristol Hotel!'
A river separates the old town from the new
Oh yeah... They got a great sense of fashion here
The gypsy market
Where you can get just about anything from toilet knobs...
to watermelons...
'Where is that damn slinky?'
'I've been looking everywhere fer a hose like this'
Market man with newspaper hat
The town council
'Want a cigarette?'
A huge Turkish fortress overwhelms the old town
I climbed it to get a good view
and this is about as far as I got before the soldiers 'escorted' me out
but I did see some cool ferns
Welcome to Ohrid
A lakeside local resort with good icecream, another fortress, some churches like this...
and old run down buildings
contrasting sharply with the modern day homes
and my trailer home 'down by the lake'
Sunset over Orhid
The fisher king
Where he stood for hours and caught nothing
Old man and lake
Old man and lake and people
