Begging kids welcome me to Volcan Pacaya
The gang starts the hike upward
Kodak picture spot #1
Our armed body guard poses while we take a break
The hiking continues on...
'Ohh Ahh, can we say active volcano?'
Unphased by the sulpher gases, the gang pushes on
Me, posing under the cone
'Danger! Oh, is that the way to the top? Gee thanks'
Black dog on black
Finally at the top, the clouds move in
And so does the rain...
Tom, me, & some sorry sap without raingear
We gather in a shelter after an hour of hiking down through a hurricane
Welcome to Volcan Masaya (both active & impressive)
Believing it was the hole to hell, the indians constructed a cross on top
They believed this would keep the evil spirits in check
'Don't cross this line!' The dropoff into the crater is for real
